Sydney is one of the most incredible cities around the world for me. It is surrounded by nature, beaches and concrete jungle at the same time that has so much to offer. We wanted to feel our city vibes from a bit higher level and close to the 2 jewels of the city, Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. We gave ourselves a bit of luxury and book a night in Shangri-la Hotel.
The hotel is located in the heart of the city. As a result you are close to all the cool things and places, including Sydney Harbour. Not to mention the amazing view from the hotels windows! Shangri-la is a perfect place for staycation. Spoil yourself a bit!
Let’s start with the room
Whatever view you fancy the most, how big room you want to have – the hotel has various options to consider. We have chosen Grand Premier Sydney Harbour Room with 270-degree panoramic view. Iconic Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House was just in front of us. Furthermore with this room you are guaranteed to be located above level 14.
Around the hotel
Hotel has Health & Leisure Centre with fully equipped gym, indoor swimming pool, hot bath and sundeck. You can also book a treatment in the Spa.
We decided to have room service for breakfast since we had the best view of the city from the bed. This was a big feast, I was happy with my vegetarian option.
Once you are in the hotel, definitely should enjoy evening in Blu Bar on 36. There is variety of alcohol in the menu (also non-alcoholic mocktails) and bar food to make the sunset or night lights view perfect.
If you wish to enjoy fine dining, Altitude Restaurant is on the same level. We have tried 4-course menu on the other occasion and I would highly recommended to you to give it a go!
Special deals, also for overnight stay
Shangri-la has various offer depending on the time of the year. At the moment there is Autumn Package which gives you extras, like early check-in, late check-out and $100 AUD credit for food and beverage. You might also check Advance Purchase or School Holidays Packages.
An overnight stay in Shangri-la inspired us to play a bit tourist role in our own city and explore the corners of Sydney CBD. As a matter of fact, staycations are more and more popular and after our experience I absolutely understand why!
